Finding Help with Vet Bills....

November 16, 2009

This year Dr. Fry will be awarding 3 families one-year of preventative health care (physical examinations, vaccinations, stool checks and deworming) for their dog or cat.  Please submit your story of hardship to 1112 Town Square Road, Pottstown, PA 19465 or stop by the hospital for an application.

ALSO PLEASE SUPPORT:  H.R. 3501-Humanity and Pets Partnered Through the Years ("HAPPY") Act. MAKE PET CARE AFFORDABLE.  This legislation will allow individuals to claim tax deductions for qualified pet care expenses. The bill would allow any taxpayer who legally owns one or more domesticated animals to take an annual income tax deduction of up to $3,500 for pet care expenses, including veterinary care costs.

Financial Assistance for Pets' Veterinary Bills by Jean Hofve, DVM

Whether it's the recalled food or something else, vet bills can be quite a burden. Below are listed some of the programs that can help with financial needs. For a more complete list, including listings by breed, state/province, medical condition, or other particular qualification, please visit United Animal Nations.

(Note: not listed elsewhere is a new program just for New Yorkers: AnimalAllianceNYC.org)

If you can contribute, there are many suffering pets...
