PETS HAVE TEETH TOO...February is Pet Dental Month

February 11, 2010

Dr. Fry Encourages Pet Parents

to Brush Up on Oral Health

Oral disease is the most frequently diagnosed health problem for pets. Although daily tooth brushing is advised for dogs and cats, the reality is that only 2% of dog owners follow through. By the age of three, an astounding 70% of dogs and cats have some form of dental disease.   Many cases of periodontal disease often go untreated because of lack of education--many clients believe that their Pet does nto have a problem because they are eating just fine.  Dental disease is a serious problem that can lead to systemic health problems which can cause serious damage to other areas of the body.  Dental exams, honme dental care and professional dental cleanings are very important to maintain oral health

This month celebrates the 15th Annual Pets Need Dental Care, Too™ Pet Dental Health Campaign. To help Pet Parents Banfield of Pottstown is offering free tooth brushes and dental care tips to help encourage clients to establish an at-home dental care routine.   In addition, dental chews will be on sale the entire month, Buy 2 Bags of enzymatic dental chews and Get 1 Free.  Don't forget to ask...
